We have parishioners born in over 25 countries and about 45% of members of St. Joseph have Hispanic heritage. One of the steps we have taken to celebrate this diversity to develop Bridge Builders, a small group of parishioners who represent our diversity. They come together for one year and share stories, food, and time together. They work through a book developed by the United States Bishops entitled, “Building Intercultural Competence for Ministers.”

It is an initiative that resulted from St. Joseph's Priority Plan specific to Hispanic Ministry.  As a result of our priority planning at St. Joseph’s, we created Bridge Builders/Gente-Puente. This is our third year and this group will learn and focus on evangelization and building synergism between communities within St. Joseph by identifying and celebrating our similarities and differences.  This diverse group brings their cultural backgrounds from places like Texas, Mexico, Venezuela, Hawaii, Panama and Noble, Oklahoma.

Many grains, one bread! We celebrate our Catholic Faith and our love for passing that faith down to our children as catechists. We look forward to a great time together for the next few months.
